Features Study in Clay

Three anatomical studies for the Nose, Mouth and Ear based on plaster copies recreated from Michelangelo's famous David statue. These bigger than life size sculptures each took around 2 to 3 sessions to sculpt and perfect (around 6 hours) and were then cast in waste molds to keep. Sculpting in this size is very interesting as it gives the brain a better canvas to work on perfecting muscles and structures.

I worked on these sculptures at Mikhail Pertsev's studio in Vancouver.
